Magdalena Jones
Magdalena Jones is a pianist, organist, and harpsichordist of English and German descent. After earning her bachelor’s degree in organ and music theory in Rotterdam (Netherlands), she won a scholarship that allowed her to pursue a “Master of Performance” in organ at the “Royal College of Music” in London (United Kingdom). While studying in London, she served as music director and organist at the Hinde Street Methodist Church.
In England and the Netherlands, he has taken part in various chamber music and orchestral projects, performing at venues such as “Buckingham Palace” and the “Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall” in London, at the “De Doelen” theater in Rotterdam, the “Energiehuis” in Dordrecht, and the “Zeeuswe Concertzaal” in Middelburg.
Notable appearances include his performance as organist in Richard Strauss’s “Alpine Symphony,” conducted by Bernard Haitink at the Royal College of Music in London, and in Ottorino Respighi’s “Pini di Roma” at the De Doelen theater in Rotterdam.
For several years now, Magdalena Jones has cultivated a passion for early music and the harpsichord. She has performed with small chamber groups and vocal ensembles, as well as with large orchestras and vocal ensembles, including in opera and cantatas. In 2018, she was a finalist and received an award at the “Annelie de Mann” competition for contemporary music on the harpsichord, held in Amsterdam.
While in school, she gave private lessons in piano, organ, and harpsichord. She taught music and piano at the “Soundsteps” music school in London.
